Please consult the Graduate Calendar for the Master of Environmental Studies (MES) in Sustainability Management (SUSM) degree requirements:
The MES in SUSM is offered as either a thesis-based masters degree or a coursework-based masters (NEW) degree which both can be taken full-time or part-time.
Thesis-based masters degree:
Thesis-based full-time students can expect to be enrolled for 6 terms (2 years). Part-time students must finish within 5 calendar years. Please see below for the suggested program schedule for full-time students. Part-time students have greater flexibility. Some thesis-based students are ready to defend in the fifth term, but most take six terms to complete writing and defend their masters thesis.
If interested in applying to the SUSM MES thesis-based program, please reach out to potential research supervisors to discuss areas of faculty research interest, alignment with a professors research program and possible student funding.
Coursework-based masters degree:
Coursework-based full-time students can expect to be enrolled for 3 terms (1 year). Part-time students must finish within 5 calendar years. Please see below for the suggested program schedule for full-time students. SUSM Coursework-based students, do not require a supervisor.
To graduate, students are required to have a minimum GPA of 75% and for research-based students successfully defend their research thesis.
